The early hours offer a good opportunity to search for animals while temperatures are cooler and wildlife is active.

Morning Game Drive

Explore the park's savannah tracks with your guide. Depending on the area visited and wildlife movements, you may see:

• Lions
• Leopards, with luck

• Victoria Nile Boat Cruise
• In the afternoon, take a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile toward the bottom of Murchison Falls.
• As the boat moves along the river, look out for hippos resting in the water, Nile crocodiles along the banks and elephants or buffaloes visiting the river to drink. You may also spot fish eagles, kingfishers and other water birds.
• The cruise provides a different perspective on the park's wildlife and river scenery. Murchison Falls boat trips to the base of the falls are among the park's established visitor activities.
• Visit the Top of Murchison Falls
• After the boat cruise, visit the Top of Murchison Falls viewpoint.
• Here, the Nile forces its way through a narrow rocky gorge before plunging downstream in a dramatic display of power. Enjoy the sound of the rushing water, take photographs and admire the scenery.
• Depending on your preferred activity and conditions, your guide can arrange the appropriate viewpoint visit or guided walk.

After breakfast, check out of your lodge and begin the journey toward Fort Portal, a beautiful town in western Uganda known for its green countryside, rolling hills and crater-lake scenery.

This is primarily a transfer day, allowing you to travel at a comfortable pace after your activities in Murchison Falls.

Enjoy the changing landscapes as you travel south and west through rural communities, agricultural areas and small towns. Your guide can arrange a lunch stop along the route.

Arrive in Fort Portal

Arrive in Fort Portal later in the day and check into your accommodation.

Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at the lodge or enjoy views of the surrounding countryside. If time permits, you can arrange an optional visit to a nearby crater lake or a short town excursion, subject to availability and additional costs.

Spend the evening relaxing before continuing to Queen Elizabeth National Park the following day.

Evening Game Drive

In the late afternoon, head out for a game drive across the park's savannah plains.

Your guide will help you search for wildlife and explain the different habitats of Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Wake up early for breakfast before heading out for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Explore the savannah tracks, especially around the Kasenyi Plains if road and lodge access make this suitable. Your guide will look for wildlife moving through the grasslands and areas near water.

Morning Wildlife Safari

Look out for elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kob, waterbucks, warthogs and other antelopes. Lions may also be encountered, although wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Enjoy opportunities for wildlife photography and learn about the park's ecosystem from your guide.

Return to the lodge for lunch or refreshments before the boat cruise.

Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Later, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake George and Lake Edward.

The channel is famous for its concentration of hippos and its rich birdlife. From the boat, you may see:

• Hippos in the water
• Nile crocodiles along the banks
• Elephants coming to drink
• Buffaloes resting near the shoreline
• Waterbucks and other wildlife
• African fish eagles
• Kingfishers, storks and other water birds

The boat cruise offers excellent opportunities to observe animals at close range from the water, while keeping a respectful distance.

The cruise generally lasts around two hours, depending on the operator and schedule.

After the cruise, return to your lodge and enjoy your final evening in the park.

Enjoy breakfast at your lodge before checking out and beginning the journey back to Entebbe.

Travel through the countryside of western and central Uganda, passing villages, farms and scenic landscapes along the way.

A lunch stop can be arranged during the drive. Depending on your route and timing, you may also stop briefly at the Equator for photographs and refreshments, if time permits.

Continue toward Entebbe, where your guide will drop you at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport.

Because the journey from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Entebbe is long, we recommend scheduling international flights for late evening or, preferably, the following day. The exact arrival time will depend on your lodge location, traffic, road conditions and stops.
