5 Days Gorilla Trekking and Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari (Starting and Ending in Kigali)

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by your professional safari guide. After a short briefing, begin the scenic drive through Rwanda's famous rolling hills towards the Uganda border.

Complete immigration formalities before proceeding to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas.

The drive offers stunning views of terraced hillsides, rural communities, and lush landscapes. Arrive at your lodge in the evening, check in, and relax while preparing for the next day's gorilla trekking adventure.

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing conducted by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers.

You will then enter the dense rainforest accompanied by experienced guides and trackers in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek can take between 2 and 8 hours depending on the gorillas' location.

Once located, you will spend one magical hour observing the gorillas as they feed, groom, play, and interact in their natural habitat. This is widely regarded as one of Africa's most extraordinary wildlife experiences.

Return to the lodge for relaxation and celebration of your successful trek.

After breakfast, depart Bwindi and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park through the famous Ishasha Sector.

Ishasha is renowned for its rare tree-climbing lions, often seen resting on the branches of large fig trees. Enjoy a game drive through the sector while searching for these unique predators alongside buffaloes, elephants, and antelopes.

Continue to your lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park for dinner and overnight.

Wake up early for a sunrise game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, one of the best wildlife viewing areas in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

During the game drive, you may encounter:

• Lions
• Elephants
• Buffaloes
• Uganda kobs
• Warthogs
• Hyenas
• Leopards (occasionally)

Return to the lodge for lunch before heading out for the afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel.

The Kazinga Channel connects Lake George and Lake Edward and is famous for hosting one of Africa's highest concentrations of hippos. You will also see crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and a wide variety of water birds along the shoreline

.After the cruise, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, check out and begin your return journey to Kigali.

Enjoy the scenic drive through southwestern Uganda and Rwanda's beautiful countryside. Upon arrival in Kigali, you may enjoy a brief city tour (depending on flight schedule) before being dropped off at Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
